East Cambridge is the part of Cambridge closest to Boston. It is home to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Kendall Square, as well as many Biotech firms around Cambridge Center. The Northpoint is also located in the East Cambridge section. The Cambridgeside Galleria, one of the Boston area's largest shopping malls, is also located in East Cambridge.
